Scroll wheel is zooming instead of scrolling

The rest is stuff I think has been overlooked, but won't make or break my experience of the program. The first three are bold because they are very important to me. My suggestions are to make the following changes to fix the zooming and scrolling (in order of preference). The entire industry has come to a relatively uniform method of scrolling and zooming but BC4 has uncharacteristically fallen short. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect is that I naively assumed BC4 would take care of these problems because they seem so obvious. It's not something you can just get used to because behavior that 'just works' in most programs actually impedes workflow in Beyond Compare. And of course, after a little bit of time passes, the awareness that this interface is different fades from consciousness, and suddenly I'm caught repeating the cycle. If the difference image has focus, that's yet another offset that I have to undo. Sometimes the situation is even worse because I might try to use the arrow keys to scroll. THEN, to succeed in my task, I am forced to use a clearly inferior mechanism (scrollbars), which is frustrating in its own right, to accomplish the simple task of scrolling around the image. It's at this point that, in confusion about not being able to do what I want, I have to jump out of automatic mode, stop, and think about the interface. (Close and reopen the comparison if it's BC3, click on the Offset display if it's BC4). Fall back to panning with click and drag. When working with Picture Compare, I repeat the following cycle multiple times per image. Ironically, this may have gone unnoticed if scrolling and zooming behaved in standard ways since I wouldn't be attempting to pan the image with. You would be hitting Undo as I must frequently do in BC due to an unintentionally offset image. Imagine a program which allows you to in the left pane to select text but doing so in the right pane deletes the text instead, or converts it to all-caps. Do one or the other, not both (or better, select a zoom region instead). The two behaviors are inconsistent and it's frustrating. Does anybody even use that feature? On the other hand, on either of the left or right images pans like many other programs. In BC4, on the difference image introduces an offset, which is pretty counter-intuitive and incredibly annoying. The entire interface feels incredibly constraining.

It looks like BC4 doesn't have either option. In BC3, I could use side-by-side or even hide the difference image to increase screen real estate and mitigate the problem by reducing the need to scroll. The zooming mouse wheel in BC4 is even worse than it was in BC3 due to the small display area for images. This is true in Firefox, Gimp, Inkscape, Libre Office and many other programs. Additionally, many programs use to scroll horizontally.

Standard mouse wheel behavior is to scroll vertically, not zoom. I just upgraded to BC4 (finally) and still find the behavior of the mouse wheel in the Picture Compare window to be very counter-intuitive.
